International telecommunications company Vodafone has decided to extend the lease for nearly 20,000 m2 of office space and related areas in its current Czech headquarters at Vinohradska Vinice after several months of intensive negotiations.

Vodafone was represented during the negotiations by global property adviser DTZ, which prepared a market survey and identified a number of alternative solutions for the telecoms operator. There were two options; to remain in the current headquarters and negotiate new terms of lease, or move into new office space elsewhere. 'After an extensive market search, we were convinced that the location of our current headquarters in many respects meets our needs and none of the alternative solutions persuaded us to relocate,'said Filip Fediuk, asset management director at Vodafone.

'The client's decision to remain in their existing premises was supported by improved financial terms and conditions which were negotiated reflecting the current market situation,' said Vaclav Boucek, head of Tenant Representation Services at DTZ in Prague.
