Former British minister and London mayoral candidate Steve Norris is joining the board of BNP Paribas Real Estate UK as its new non-executive chairman.
Norris was a member of parliament for over 14 years (1983-1997), served as parliamentary private secretary at the departments of environment, trade and industry and the Home Office, and was minister for transport in London from 1992 to 1996.
Norris was also vice-chairman of the Conservative Party and stood twice as its candidate for Mayor of London in 2000 and 2004.
As a businessman, Norris is chairman of Soho Estates and has experience of both quoted and unquoted companies.
