European shopping centre developer SES Spar has become the latest member of the International Sustainability Alliance (ISA), a global network of real estate owners, occupiers, developers and investors which collectively control commercial real estate assets worth some EUR 150 bn.
Based in Salzburg, SES Spar is the largest developer, builder and operator of major retail premises in Austria. The company currently operates 24 large shopping centres in five European countries, with a total floor space of 1.8 million m2.
Since its establishment in 2009, ISA has developed an extensive database of property sustainability, using members’ consumption data. Key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks derived from the database enable members to monitor, compare, report and improve the performance of their property portfolios.
‘With each new ISA member, the quantity and quality of valuable sustainability data continues to grow, giving further rigour to our already powerful database and to the resulting KPI and benchmarking tools,’ said Phil Buttery, ISA’s chief executive.
