The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has published new global guidelines for residential and commercial real estate managers.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has published new global guidelines for residential and commercial real estate managers.
Launched at MIPIM, the publication sets a framework for best practice in the execution and delivery of real estate management services, and aims to raise standards across international markets.
The guidance also helps RICS members meet local legislative requirements and ethical codes in all world regions.
The publication ensures that clients and consumers receive objective advice, delivered in a professional manner, which is consistent with internationally recognised standards.
The new guidance fits in with worldwide efforts to improve ethics and transparency in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. ‘Worldwide, there is a tremendous push for consistent standards and transparency, and professional bodies in all sectors – whether they be banks, accountants, lawyers ro brokers – are working on this together. You could say there is an international standards project going on,’ said Peter Bolton-King FRICS, director of RICS’ Residential Professional Group.
