PointPark Properties is believed to be gearing up for the first real estate flotation on the London Stock Exchange since 2010. The company, headed by Ian Worboys, develops and manages logistics warehouses across Western and Eastern Europe.
Worboys, one of the panelists at the PropertyEU European Logistics Investment Briefing held at EXPO REAL on Monday, declined to comment on the report but sources close to the company said the flotation could be announced as early as today.
During the panel discussion, Worboys said the European logistics market had continued to see 'remarkably strong growth' with occupancy rates in Germany at a high 99%. He also pointed to Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia as key hotspots in Europe where demand for logistics remains strong. At present, investment properties in those countries are trading at 75-100 basis points more than comparable assets in Western Europe, he noted, but added that a 'smoothing out' would likely take place in the next phase in the evolution of the industry.
