Property developer PNK Group has won a contract to build a 70,000 m2 logistics terminal in the Naro-Fominsk district of Moscow for children's goods retailer Detsky Mir Group.

The project, located in the PNK Bekasovo industrial park, will involve an investment of RUB 4 bn (€60 mln) and is due for completion this summer.

According to Colliers International, which represented the developer in the deal, it is the largest BTS transaction ever closed in the Russian warehousing market.

Detsky Mir is the largest children’s goods retailer in Russia and Kazakhstan.

PNK Group is investing not only in the construction of the complex but also funding the development of the surrounding transport and social infrastructure, including a motorway flyover across the railroad line through Bekasovo.

Vyacheslav Mikhnenko, director of logistics at Detsky Mir Group, said: 'This represents a strategic step forward in the development of our distribution network. The new distribution centre at Bekasovo is intended not only to cover the current needs of Detsky Mir but also to support our company’s dynamic growth over the next two to three years.'

PNK has a development pipeline of over 1.8 million m2 in the Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk markets.
