The deal comes a week after the pair received the green light for a £145 mln (€167 mln) scheme in Birmingham. Previously they also received permission for a £128 mln (€149 mln) project in Manchester

The 34-storey tower destined for Liverpool, dubbed the Lexington, will house 304 high-spec apartments and form part of the Peel Group’s £5.5bn regeneration masterplan for the area.

Dan Brooks, director at Moda Living, said the development would help 'underpin the regeneration efforts' in the area and provide 'much-needed quality homes for rent'.

'This is the next important step in our ambitious plan to create the UK’s leading rental brand, providing a new benchmark for city centre living,' added Brooks.

Moda Living and funding partner Apache Capital will retain ownership of the property and operate it through their joint venture.

The Liverpool scheme represents the third project to be brought forward by the JV. In Manchester Moda has secured planning permission for the £466 apartment Angels Gardens development and in Birmingham it is building a 450-apartment block on Broad Street.
