Software giant Microsoft has signed a long-term lease for 26,000 m2 at one of Argenta Group’s last remaining sites in the Parkstadt Schwabing business park in Munich.

Microsoft plans to move its German headquarters to the new site, making Munich the second-largest office to be occupied by the software giant in Europe after Paris.

Construction of the headquarters building, situated on the northern side of Munich, will start in 2014.

Designed by GSP Architects, the new HQ offering 26,000 m2 will provide 1,800 employees with a canteen and fitness area and ultra-modern office space. Completion of the new building is scheduled for summer 2016. The scheme will aim for LEED gold certification.

Microsoft was represented by Colliers International in the deal.
