Real Capital Analytics (RCA) has appointed Simon Mallinson to lead its European business.

Mallinson joins the property data provider from Invesco Real Estate, where he was senior director leading the European Research team. Prior to that he spent many years with IPD, another international property data firm.

RCA entered the European market five years ago. The firm has named Mallinson as executive managing director of its EMEA team that is based in London.

Robert White, founder and president of RCA, commented: 'Simon is well regarded for his thought leadership on the commercial property markets and is exactly the right individual to shape RCA's continued growth in EMEA.'

Mallinson added, 'From my years working for IPD I've been passionate about real estate data transparency and my time with Invesco Real Estate has emphasised to me how important accurate, reliable and timely data is to the industry.´

Steve Williams, executive managing director of RCA and past president of RICS, will continue to support the EMEA team and will take on new responsibilities to further RCA's expansion into Asia and Latin America.

RCA recently organized a group of five European property firms to co-sponsor a German Lending Survey with IREBS. The first annual report is due to be launched at Expo Real 2013.
