Logistics and industrial property specialists have taken three of the top five positions in PropertyEU's latest ranking of European developers by completed space.

Sydney-listed Goodman heads PropertyEU's 2013 ranking of Top European developers for the second year running.

The ranking is based on completed projects between 2010 and 2012. Goodman completed just under 1.6 million m2 during that period compared to 860,000 m2 by the number two in the ranking, Panattoni Europe. Prologis Europe came fourth with just under 502,000 m2 of finalised projects.

The strong showing by logistics and industrial developers underscores the increasing investor interest in the sector. DTZ has tipped logistics/industrial as the outstanding sector in its latest Fair Value Index.

In recognition of its growing prominence, this year's MIPIM fair in Cannes is devoting an extensive programme of conferences and events to the sector.

Fair organiser Reed Midem has said hundreds of investment companies involved in real estate logistics, along with cities and local authorities, developers and corporate end-users from around the world, will come together at Cannes this year.

Among the many events dedicated to the sector is a special investment briefing organised by PropertyEU in partnership with IPD.

PropertyEU's European logistics event takes place on 12 March between 1pm and 2.30 pm at the IPD Auditorium E, Level 3.

The speakers include Emmanuel Van der Stichele, fund director at Goodman European Logistics Fund; Peter Hobbs, senior director of business development at IPD and Stefan Wundrak, director of research property at Henderson Global Investors.
