Oslo-based pension and insurance provider KLP has agreed to acquire an office building being built by a subsidiary of Norwegian State Railways (NSB) in Bergen for €81 mln. Pangea Property Partners and law firm Bahr acted for the vendor.

Zander Kaaes gate 7 is a 14,900 m2 office property being developed by ROM Eiendom, a real estate subsidiary of the national rail company, at the main train station in the south-western Norwegian city of Bergen.

The building has three wings of different heights (4+4+7 floors), with retail-commercial areas at ground floor level. There is basement park for 17 cars and 150 bikes. The building has a Class A energy rating and will be rated as 'Very Good' based on the environmental assessment system BREEAM-NOR.

The acquisition is being carried out by KLP's real estate development and investment business KLP Eiendom. 'ROM Eiendom is completing an attractive property, delivered to technical standards and environmental qualities in line with what we would have chosen ourselves for a newly built property,' said Gunnar Gjørtz, CEO of KLP Eiendom.

ROM Eiendom focuses on sustainable development of Norwegian public transportation hubs, and facilitating increased public transport. 'We are proud to develop this project, providing office spaces for approximately 750 jobs located at the best public traffic hub in Bergen,' said Petter Eiken, CEO of ROM Eiendom.
