A joint venture of Patron Capital and Halcyon Hotels has acquired 30% of the Von Essen hotel portfolio out of administration in the UK. The financial details were not disclosed.

Paton, a pan-European private equity group, said the acquired assets formed a sub-brand within Von Essen known as the Luxury Family Hotels collection.

The Von Essen hotel group entered administration in earlier this year and Christie + Co received the mandate to sell the 28-asset hotel portfolio.

Four of the assets were owned until 2005 by Halycon CEO Nigel Chapman.

The seven hotels being acquired have a total of 211 rooms, with a restaurant and spa/leisure facilities within each asset. The portfolio is located predominantly in the south of England.
