Some 64% of investors polled by CBRE expect to be net buyers in Belgium this year, while 30% plan to be active as a vendor.
These are some of the key findings of CBRE’s investors survey for 2013 carried out among 50 of the largest domestic and foreign investors active in the Belgian market.
The survey found that €4.5 bn of funds are available if the right opportunities present themselves.
CBRE notes that there was €3.4 bn available at the start of 2012 and this resulted in €1.69 bn of actual investment by the wend of the year.
The survey also suggested that the office sector - at least the prime segment - may be coming back into favour after several years when the state of the underlying occupational market was viewed as too risky. During the period several investors switched to buying retail or senior living homes.
The CBRE survey found that investors want to allocate an average of 58% of their 2013 investments to offices, up from 49% in the 2011 survey.
