Foncière des Régions (FdR) is buying the future headquarters of Eiffage Construction just a few days after announcing the sale of a 25% stake in the CB21 tower to a French insurance company.

In a statement on Tuesday, the office-focused investor and developer said that it has agreed the purchase of the 10,800 m2 office project which is currently being developed by Eiffage Immobilier Ile-de-France in the Vélizy-Villacoublay region. An FdR spokesperson told PropertyEU that the investment amounts to around EUR 45 mln.

The scheme, which will boast both High-Quality Environmental and BBC-Effinergie energy certificates, will comprise six floors of office space located right next to the future light rail line, the T6 Tramway, which will be inaugurated in 2012. Designed by the architect Jean-Paul Viguier, the building will be completed in October 2011 and delivered to Eiffage Construction which has agreed to take the entire space under a 12-year, fixed-term lease.

This new agreement reinforces FdR and Eiffage Construction's partnership which began in 2008 with the acquisition by FdR of several Eiffage Construction buildings in France. 'This acquisition furthers FdR's strategy as a leader in the office market and a long-term partner to major companies,' stressed Olivier Estève, FdR's managing director of Office Properties.

'Eiffage Immobilier, a forerunner in sustainable development, continues to pursue high-quality environmental deals and will soon finalise about fifteen tertiary and commercial projects with a total of around 120,000 m2,' noted Philippe Plaza, general manager of Eiffage Immobilier Ile-de-France.
