The organisers of the Expo Real international trade fair expect 38,000 participants to converge on Munich for this year's show which takes place from 7-9 October.

The forecast attendance figure is roughly similar to the 2012 figure.

Expo Real director Claudia Boymanns said 1,700 exhibitors will showcase their offerings over the 64,000 m2 exhibition floor.

She noted there will be more joint regional and sector stands this year than ever before.

Boymanns: 'The idea of having a joint pavilion is for those companies not to walk alone but to walk in a joint community. We have arranged a couple of new country pavilions and we have also arranged to grow in certain segments.'

Boymanns revealed that for the first time the ministry for economic development of the Russian Federation has initiated a large joint pavilion for nine regions. The cities of Moscow and St Petersburg are exhibiting during the three-day event.

The Netherlands has been a leader in joint stands, and will again have a joint platform at the Holland Property Plaza as well as Amsterdam stand. Austria will also be represented by two joint pavilions - one national stand and one for Vienna and the real estate players active there.

At a sector level, the combined logistics stand, LogReal Campus, returns after its debut in 2012.

Boymanns: 'Logistics is a growing real estate segment not only in Germany but also across Europe so we are very proud that this concept brings together logistics developers, investors and operators on one large stand.'

The combined hospitality stand, World of Hospitality, returns for the third year and will feature hotel operators such as Hyatt, InterContinental, Kempinski, Louvre and Wyndam over a 200 m2 area.

A hospitality conference takes place on the first day of Expo Real and there is an event to bring VIPs of the industry together on Monday evening.
