Amsterdam-listed retail specialist Corio has signed a contract with Primark to open the fashion giant’s first store in France.
The new Primark store will occupy a 7,500 m2 unit within Corio’s Grand Littoral retail complex in Marseille.
Primark will be the anchor tenant of the redeveloped ‘Zone Azur’ part of the shopping centre. The opening of Zone Azur will boost visitor numbers to the Marseille complex, which currently stand at 12 million a year.
Corio CEO Gerard Groener welcomed the arrival of Primark. 'With this signature the Zone Azur redevelopment is 81% let and is expected to be fully let soon. Communication about opening will be done at a later stage,' he said.
