AXA REIM has acquired the AB Skipper Hotel in Barcelona from the Spanish developer Grupo Preyco 44. The financial details were not disclosed. The property was acquired on behalf of REOF 2, one of AXA REIM's opportunistic funds.
AXA REIM has acquired the AB Skipper Hotel in Barcelona from the Spanish developer Grupo Preyco 44. The financial details were not disclosed. The property was acquired on behalf of REOF 2, one of AXA REIM's opportunistic funds.
The hotel is located in Puerto OlÃmpico close to the Barceloneta beach, 10 minutes away from the city centre. It has 241 rooms, two outdoor swimming pools, three bars, two restaurants, 80 parking spaces and a convention centre including nine meeting rooms.
AXA REIM has appointed Accor Hoteles España to manage the hotel for 20 years. The hotel will join the Accor network under the Pullman brand, so becoming the Pullman Barcelona Skipper.
REOF 2 was launched at the end of 2006 by AXA REIM. The fund invests in Real Estate debt (loan tranches or whole loans), preferred equity and high potential real estate assets. It has an investment capacity of up to EUR 500 mln and is currently in its investment phase.
