Altarea Cogedim is joining forces with Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC) to redevelop the former Macdonald warehousing site in Paris into a new retail destination.

The new joint venture will be structured on a 50-50 basis with Altarea Cogedim managing the development, which will provide 32,500 m2 of retail and leisure space on boulevard Macdonald.

The investment amount for the project was not disclosed.

The project is part of the larger Macdonald city centre regeneration project, which focuses on the conversion of the 165,000 m2 Macdonald facility into a new mixed-use district to the northeast of Paris.

Designed by architects Oma, the retail complex will include an UGC cinema as well as 600 parking spaces.

'With time, L’Entrepôt Macdonald will become a new emblematic quarter in Paris,' commented Alain Taravella, president and founder of Altarea Cogedim.
